McCain wins Washington primary, Obama takes Wisconsin

Senator John McCain has won the Republican Washington primary, according to CNN, adding to his win in the February 9 caucuses there. CNN and the AP have both awarded enough delegates to Sen McCain to bring him to or over the 900-delegate mark, just about 250 short of what’s needed to secure the nomination. However, when Mitt Romney’s 250-odd delegates are counted in that you’d think Mike Huckabee and Ron Paul would be smart enough to drop out.

Meanwhile, Sen Barack Obama has defeated Sen Hillary Rodham Clinton in the mainly white working-class Wisconsin, in yet another blow to Senator Clinton’s hopes. However, she still leads in Texas and Ohio (Mar 4), and that will pretty much be her last chance to arrest this slide or it could be the end of her hopes.
